Pregrada - lokacija na karti
Pregrada, a small town at the foot of Kunagora Mountain in the valley of Kosteljina brook in the region of Hrvatsko Zagorje, 8 km east of Desinic and 12 km west of Krapina; elevation 195 m. The first mention of it was in 1334. Economy is based on farming, livestock breeding, synthetic material processing, textile industry (knitwear), production of lighting fixtures and building material.
The rich history of this place owes to the Count family Keglević and is adorned by the church in whole area of Hrvatsko Zagorje and the reason why the people call the church “The Cathedral of Zagorje” Pregrada has been administrative centre for centuries in which the trade and craftsmanship were very developed. Pregrada today has the status of town with the inherited tradition of craftsmanship and successful economy. The further development could be realised in tourism - vine roads, the castle Bežanec.
