Sveti Križ Začretje is a village and municipality in Krapina-Zagorje county in Croatia. According to the 2001 census, there are 6,619 inhabitants in the area. The community has succeeded to conserve its marvellous rural and urban face with the elevated hill on which dominates the building of the church and castle. The perspective of the community is the modernisation of existing capacities and the construction of the new units of industry.

The thermo-isolation material factory Varpring and the great agricultural co-operative are the most important enterprises in the place. The co-operative produces and manages the horticulture, viticulture and fruit production.
