Tuhelj - location maps

Tuhelj is a village and municipality in Krapina-Zagorje county in Croatia. According to the 2001 census, there are 2,181 inhabitants in the area. Tuhelj is famous for its spa.The place is situated between the colourful hills of the foothills of the mountain Cesargrad. In its history the place was known as the cultural, historical, religious and political centre. 600 years old church of the ascended and blessed Virgin Marie in late gothic style is the main monument of the place.

There is a great potential for the development of recreation and health tourism, based on the several thermal water springs. The Baroque Mihanovic Castle is a reconstructed and refurbished mansion, now a representative hotel. That encouraged opening of “Terme Tuhelj”. Tuheljske Toplice is a famous health resort, spa and excursion destination.

Night swimming opportunities and rich entertainment make Tuheljske Toplice particularly popular among young generations from the surroundings and nearby Zagreb.
